Study on the impact of 3D printer feed rate on the quality of metal powder mixture casting billet

The combination of two modern technologies of 3D printing and metal injection molding makes it possible to obtain high-strength products from refractory materials with complex geometry and complex internal texture. A material for metal mixture 3D printing using fused deposition modeling technology was made at the scientific-productional center “Injection Molding Technologies” of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. A technology for making the 3D printing filament has been developed. The feed rate affecting on the 3D printed casting billet quality has been investigated. The experimental results for two models that have different geometric configurations (circle and rectangle) are shown.
