The relevance of the problem considered in the article stems from the need to create alternative methods for testing equipment running on a gas-liquid mixture. Different methods of testing equipment on a gas-liquid mixture are considered. Traditional methods of equipment testing (bench tests) require significant financial and time costs, while hydrodynamic simulation methods allow testing without making a full-scale model and, as a consequence, are becoming more widespread. The hydrodynamic simulation method for testing equipment in the gas-liquid mixture is described. A brief description of the VOF (Volume of fluid) mathematical model for multiphase flows hydrodynamic simulation is provided. Calculation example of operating parameters of an oil multistage electric centrifugal pump stage in STAR CCM+ software package is presented. The results of the study can be applied to design, optimization and calculation of operating parameters of equipment running on a gas-liquid mixture.
