The scope of cryogenic products in the modern world is very wide, and therefore, use of these requires special technical devices. Pumps that are used for pumping substances or mixtures of substances at cryogenic temperatures must comply with the special properties of cryogenic products, as well as have high reliability. This article reviews the main types of cryogenic pumps, identifies the problems encountered in the design and operation of pumping units, and formulates the requirements for these devices. A brief overview of the most common designs of cryogenic pumps of foreign and Russian production is made.
