The paper is devoted to the issue of the relevance of the development of a universal robotic tracked platform with increased cross-country ability to solve the problems of rescue services, such as patrolling, reconnaissance, dismantling debris, extinguishing fires, and transporting goods. The selected engine unit is capable of solving a wide range of tasks faced by the developed universal mobile robotic complex, and includes an engine that provides the platform with the necessary torque (the type of the executive engine must be changed depending on the external environment, i.e. an internal combustion engine, DC motor or asynchronous motor), mechanical transmission, smoothly changing the gear ratio (variator). The task of implementing steering control has been solved. A general structural diagram of the executive level has been drawn up.
