The paper considers different ways of improving the main functional qualities of the machine-tool, namely its accuracy and efficiency, which, in their turn, depend on the availability of consoles, the position of the machine-tool’s center of mass and the counting distribution of coordinate axes between the carrying systems of the working motion and the feed motion. The work describes the cases of increasing and losing the stiffness for the machine-tool’s carrying system. We consider the examples of availability and non-availability of the console. The article describes the impact of the center of mass position on the machine-tool’s capabilities. It shows the layout arrangement of the machine-tool TakisawaTMT 4500 TT and carries out its analysis. The authors introduce the modified layout arrangement of the construction of multifunction turn-milling machine with the power-driven tool, which must contribute to increasing its accuracy and efficiency. We draw conclusions about the accomplished work.
