Increasing the efficiency of the process of separating the casts from the sprue

The article is aimed at finding the structural design and best configurations of the trimming machine substructures in order to reduce the deformation forces when separating the casts from the sprue in the process of the investment casting. The authors consider different ways of reducing the cutting forces: applying the die of special geometry, implementation of the forced oscillations of low and ultrasonic frequencies as well as the combination of these ways. We provide basic information concerning various types of drives: electromagnetic, electro-hydraulic, hydraulic-mechanical, mechanical, electrostrictive. Special attention is given to the drives allowing us to get the forced oscillations in the cutting area. We analyze the options considered and suggest a principle installation diagram.
