Recently, there has been an increase in the number of studies on the problem of contamination by microplastic particles in the aquatic environment. Research methods in this area are not standardized and are constantly being updated, there is a need to identify metrological problems in the field of quantitative determination of microplastics in reservoirs. Methods of sampling, cleaning, sorting and identification of samples for finding microplastic particles in the aquatic environment, bottom and shore sediments are considered in the work. The state of metrological aspects in the field of quantitative assessment of the content of microplastic particles in reservoirs and coastal zones is investigated.
