The paper presents statistical analysis of the power consumption structure by organizations according to the main types of economic activity and by population of the Russian Federation. Volumes of electricity losses in the power networks were analyzed. Based on the analysis, conclusions were made on alteration in dynamics and structure of power consumption in the Russian Federation over the five-year period. Reasons are marked that could significantly affect alteration in dynamics and structure of power consumption in the Russian Federation for the period under consideration. In addition to the above, influence of separate factors on the total power consumption by the Russian Federation population was analyzed using the index method.
