The article is devoted to the study of a mathematical model of the vehicles movement at a controlled intersection. A mathematical model is needed to improve the regulation of the traffic flow and increase the throughput of the intersection. To simulate traffic at an intersection with four lanes, a mathematical model was selected and implemented in the MATLAB system, in which the movement of vehicles is modeled using Markov chains with continuous time. Several measurements were made at intersections in Moscow and Yekaterinburg and the values of the average queue length at regulated intersections were obtained. An analysis of the results obtained is presented, a comparison of the mathematical model with the obtained experimental data is performed, and the standard deviation between the real data and the results of mathematical modeling is calculated.
