Construction of a simulation model of a part of the road network as a tool for finding the optimal traffic light mode

A simulation model of a section of the road network of the Lyubertsy town was developed and an analysis of the throughput of regulated crossroads and roads in general, depending on the modes, was carried out. It has become possible to find the optimal operating time of the traffic light phases, thereby minimizing congestion or removing them altogether by using data about the degree of traffic congestion by time on weekdays. In addition, this model can be used to simulate high traffic situations, for example, in such cases as blocking or repairing adjacent roads. For this purpose in the input data of the model it will be necessary to take into account the probable increase in the number of cars.
