This article reviews the reasons for the need to study the application possibilities of the polygraph, the scope and features of its use. We revealed the relevance of the application of the polygraph examination (PE) in screening procedures, established tasks that the PE solves in this area, showed how to evaluate the results of this procedure. There are several criteria by which the applicant can evaluate such a procedure and, depending on this, determine his further actions regarding the company in which he underwent or will still undergo the PE. This material will be especially relevant for young professionals, recent graduates or undergraduates, as well as those who have not yet experienced PE in the framework of personnel selection.
