The problem of weighing a car in motion and the reasons for its occurrence are described. The advantages and disadvantages of the current weighing system are considered and a fundamentally new method for calculating the mass of a car in motion is proposed, which is based on the application of a simulation model of the process. The presented method is able to eliminate the main disadvantages of the existing system: the requirement for the smooth ride of the vehicle and the reduced accuracy of determining the mass of the vehicle associated with the redistribution of loads between the axles of the vehicle. It is concluded that despite a number of shortcomings, the current system copes sufficiently with the detection of vehicles exceeding the weight threshold, and the system created using the proposed method can become a good alternative to the current system.
