Impact of digital technologies on the social interaction: verbal and non-verbal communication

The paper considers the impact of information technologies on the modern communication space and compares verbal and non-verbal means of communication. This work objective is to analyze alterations in the communication environment that occur influenced by the modern electronic technologies. Social interaction is considered as a communication process. Components that constitute the modern communication space are analyzed. It is noted that Internet in the era of digital technologies became the most important component in the digital space, and the problem of the competent information selection is coming to the fore. It is concluded that the use of digital technologies is more typical for non-verbal means of social communication than for verbal ones.
