The author has developed an approach to assess the professional qualities of senior students of a technical university in order to identify their potential predisposition to a certain professional activity (specialty). The main content of the study is the relationship between unconscious and conscious human behavior, because the work of the subconscious does not depend on the will. It contains all the information that has ever been heard, seen and felt, as well as information embedded in a person from birth. The dependence of the inclination to professional activity of senior students of a technical university when working in their future specialty on motivation is analyzed based on the method of identifying correlation dependence. The study made it possible to reveal a correlation between the propensity for professional activity and the motivation of senior students.
