The article is devoted to the urgent problem of oil products contamination of territories directly passing oil pipelines, as well as territories of gas stations and car parks where oil, gasoline and other technical substances enter the soil. It is shown which dangerous processes are realized as a result of the spill of oil and oil products, what damage it causes to the soil and what consequences it can lead to. The statistics on accidents in the oil sector related to the release of oil and oil products into the environment are summarized. The main causes of accidental spills of oil and oil products with the distribution of causes of spills by year are indicated. The standards for the content of oil and oil products in the soil and the gradation of pollution levels are given. Known methods for responding to emergency spills are listed, and a brief analysis is performed. The physicochemical (flotation) method of cleaning the soil from oil and oil products is especially highlighted, a preliminary view of the installation for implementing this method is presented, the flotation process is described.
