In this paper the authors analyzed a set of measures for the collection, processing and disposal of garbage in Russia, carried out a comparative analysis with other states, considered all methods of dealing with garbage from the most archaic to the most modern, proposed methods for collecting, recycling and processing solid garbage relevant to Russia: underground garbage dumps, sorting household waste, traditional technologies for processing materials such as metal, glass, plastic, paper, the introduction of the most recent and low-cost processing technologies: cellulose hydrolysis, waste treatment using microorganisms. The authors emphasizes the ideas that the application of these measures will allow you to completely avoid landfill overflow, and thus reduce pollution of the hydro, atmospheric and lithosphere of the Earth, which will have a positive impact on public health.
