For the first time, large-scale cosmos pollution became known in the 1980s, when the concentration of debris in the Earth’s orbit reached such a density that ballistics needed to make serious calculations in order to safely place one or another satellite among it. Recently, the situation has only worsened. The amount of debris is so large that it creates a danger for operating automatic stations. This article discusses the “underwater part of the space iceberg” and little-known facts about human space activity. It was analyzed the amount of debris in different orbits, was listed the main negative factors affecting the surface of the planet.
